Laser technology
Laser technology is applied to the levellers in a way that continually synchronize the height of the blade.
The laser levelling machine, the laser beam transmitter and the laser beam receiver are parts of the laser control system for levelling.
The transmitter is located on a tripod that sees the natural gradient of the soil and sends the signal to the receiver, which is instead put on the machine itself.
The laser beam, as it is one of its internal characteristics, permits very high preciseness even over long sections of land. After obtaining the signal, a technologically perfectioned rotating pentaprism, put on these machines, gives back an ideal program for the leveller to follow while operating.
The receiver also plays a very important part, because it correctly reads the laser light received from the transmitter, through special photodiodes. The receivers, manufactured by Mara Laser, guarantee the levellers will be able to move on any kind of soil and receive the 360° signal, even if it could be low or experiences interference.
On the laser levelling machine, also, there is a control system to remove external interference. It decreases wind sound, automatically captures the signal and regulates the power of the tractor.
GPS system technology
GPS technology, after all, is used to set the position of the laser levelling machine and the height of the blade.
The levellers, that implement this technology, obtain the laser signal from the satellites: even in this situation the program is illustrated by the signal and reproduced on the soil.
Lately, thanks to technological progress and the use of dedicated software, an accuracy of ± 10 mm has been obtained, even though this technology offers poorer accuracy than laser technology: GPS systems are subject to fluctuations as it is one of the periodic change of constellation of the satellites.
In any case, the poorer preciseness is compensated by the wide adaptability of use, in particular when this technology is used to work on large land sections with more than one inclinations, such as agricoltural ground and building constructions.
Integrated laser + GPS system
Mara Laser has created and manufactured an integrated system that adds the precision of laser technology with the potential of GPS, perfect for harsh soil.
The higher preciseness of the laser signal represents the plan within a radius of 1300 meters, while the GPS system communicates the location of the leveller. Hence, the Mara system can set the height of the tractor leveller and the location of the blade itself.
The creation of the 3D map of the soil permits to highlight the land sections that has to be scraped, the loading areas, the point where to start, and the best route that enables to make the best work possible, with both the tractor and the leveller in the right position.
Hence, the operator will have prompt instructions through the constant updating of the data by the system.
