Laser technology
Laser technology is applied to the levellers in a way that continually synchronize the height of the blade.
The laser levelling machine, the laser beam transmitter and the laser beam receiver are the elements of the laser control system for levelling.
The transmitter is located on a tripod that sees the natural tilt of the soil and sends the signal to the receiver, which is instead positioned on the machine itself.
The laser beam, beacuse of its own characteristics, enables very high preciseness even over long land portions. After obtaining the signal, a technologically perfectioned rotating pentaprism, positioned on these machines, gives back an ideal pianification for the leveller to follow while running.
The receiver also has an important role, because it correctly reads the laser light received from the transmitter, through special photodiodes. The receivers, manufactured by Mara Laser, guarantee the levellers will be able to move on any kind of soil and receive the 360° signal, though it could be low or it goes through interference.
On the laser levelling machine, also, there is a control system to remove external interference. It cuts wind sound, automatically reaches the signal and regulates the power of the tractor.
GPS receiver technology
GPS technology, after all, is used to regulate the position of the laser levelling machine and the height of the blade.
The levellers, that implement this technology, obtain the laser signal from the satellites: even in this situation the pianification is defined by the signal and reproduced on the soil.
Nowadays, thanks to technological advancement and the use of dedicated software, an accuracy of ± 10 mm has been reached up, even though this technology offers less accuracy than laser technology: GPS systems are subject to fluctuations beacuse of the periodic change of constellation of the satellites.
In any case, the less preciseness is compensated by the wide elasticity of use, in particular when this technology is used to work on large land portions with various inclinations, such as agricoltural ground and building constructions.
Integrated laser + GPS system
Mara Laser has created and manufactured an integrated system that matches the precision of laser technology with the potential of GPS, proper for harsh soil.
The higher preciseness of the laser signal represents the plan within a radius of 1300 meters, while the GPS system communicates the location of the leveller. Hence, the Mara system can regulate the height of the tractor leveller and the location of the blade itself.
The creation of the 3D map of the soil enables to highlight the land portions that has to be scraped, the loading areas, the starting point, and the best route that enables to do the greatest job possible, with both the tractor and the leveller in the right position.
Hence, the operator will have prompt instructions through the constant updating of the data by the system.
