Laser technology
Laser technology is applied to the levellers in a way that continually synchronize the height of the blade.
The leveller, the laser beam transmitter and the laser beam receiver are parts of the laser control system for levelling.
The transmitter is put on a tripod that examines the natural inclination of the land and communicates the signal to the receiver, which is instead put on the machine itself.
The laser beam, as it is one of its own characteristics, enables very high preciseness even over long land portions. After obtaining the signal, a technologically perfectioned rotating pentaprism, put on these machines, gives back an ideal pianification for the leveller to follow while running.
The receiver also plays a very important part, because it correctly reads the laser light received from the transmitter, through special photodiodes. The receivers, made by Mara Laser, guarantee the levellers will be able to move on any type fo ground and receive the 360° signal, though it could be low or it is subjected to interference.
On the leveller, besides, there is a control system to annul external interference. It cuts wind rumble, automatically reaches the signal and regulates the power of the tractor.
GPS receiver technology
GPS technology, however, is used to set the position of the leveller and the height of the blade.
The levellers, that adopt this technology, get the laser signal from the satellites: even in this situation the pianification is represented by the signal and reproduced on the land.
Nowadays, thanks to technological advancement and the use of dedicated software, an accuracy of ± 10 mm has been obtained, even though this technology offers less accuracy than laser technology: GPS systems are subject to fluctuations as it is one of the periodic change of constellation of the satellites.
In any case, the less preciseness is compensated by the wide adaptability of use, mostly when this technology is used to work on large land sections with more than one inclinations, such as agricultural soil and building constructions.
Integrated laser + GPS system
Mara Laser has produced and made an integrated system that adds the precision of laser technology with the potential of GPS, perfect for tough land.
The higher preciseness of the laser signal lays out the plan within a radius of 1300 meters, while the GPS system communicates the location of the leveller. Thus, the Mara system can set the height of the tractor leveller and the location of the blade itself.
The creation of the 3D map of the land enables to highlight the land sections that has to be scraped, the loading areas, the section where to begin, and the best route that allows to make the best work possible, with both the tractor and the leveller in the right position.
Thus, the operator will have prompt instructions through the constant updating of the data by the system.
