Mara - Laser Levelers

Grader for agricultural soil

Mara Laser is a business activity that for over 30 years has been examining, making and trading laser and GPS controlled laser levelling machines, calling on clients in about 30 states everywhere in the world.
Thanks to GPS and laser control technologies, it is feasible to achieve significant results in many sectors of use: from agricultural soil to sportsground, from building constructions to road excavations, from landscaping to soil scraping.
Mara’s levellers ensure a series of returns and high capacity in various situations: from the machine operating velocity, to a total affidability and certainty of the result.

Mara’s technology

The technology used by Mara is what makes it unique, and the results obtained all over the world testify this. Laser and GPS receiver technologies provide an unique performance, in particular when they are combined.

Laser technology

Laser technology is applied to the levellers in a way that continually synchronize the height of the blade.
The laser leveller, the laser beam transmitter and the laser beam receiver are parts of the laser control system for levelling.
The transmitter is placed on a tripod that examines the natural tilt of the land and sends the signal to the receiver, which is instead positioned on the machine itself.
The laser beam, as it is one of its internal characteristics, permits very high accuracy even over long land portions. After picking up the signal, a technologically perfectioned rotating pentaprism, positioned on these machines, gives back an ideal program for the leveller to follow while operating.
The receiver also has an important role, because it correctly reads the laser light received from the transmitter, through special photodiodes. The receivers, manufactured by Mara Laser, guarantee the levellers will be able to move on any type fo ground and receive the 360° signal, even though it could be low or it goes through interference.
On the laser leveller, moreover, there is a control system to remove external interference. It decreases wind rumble, automatically intercepts the signal and regulates the power of the tractor.

GPS receiver technology

GPS technology, after all, is used to set the position of the laser leveller and the height of the blade.
The levellers, that implement this technology, obtain the laser signal from the satellites: even in this situation the program is illustrated by the signal and reproduced on the land.
Nowadays, thanks to technological progress and the use of dedicated software, an accuracy of ± 10 mm has been reached up, even though this technology offers poorer accuracy than laser technology: GPS systems are subject to fluctuations as it is one of the periodic change of constellation of the satellites.
In any case, the poorer accuracy is compensated by the wide elasticity of use, in particular when this technology is used to work on large land sections with various inclinations, such as agricultural soil and building constructions.

Integrated laser + GPS system

Mara Laser has produced and manufactured an integrated system that connects the precision of laser technology with the potential of GPS, the right one for tough land.
The higher accuracy of the laser signal shows the plan within a radius of 1300 meters, while the GPS system communicates the precise spot of the leveller. Therefor, the Mara system can set the height of the tractor leveller and the precise spot of the blade itself.
The creation of the 3D map of the land permits to highlight the land sections that has to be scraped, the loading areas, the point where to start, and the best route that allows to do the greatest job possible, with both the tractor and the leveller in the right position.
Therefor, the operator will have instant instructions through the constant updating of the data by the system.

Fields of application

The significant accuracy and elasticity of the levellers manufactured by Mara Laser assure their use in various areas:

  • Laser levelling machines for agriculture:
Mara’s laser levellers, among the many conveniences assure a key increase of the arable land sections. They permits a reduction in the amount of water used, an increased production, a less use of chemicals, as well as seeds. The decrease in work times, besides, makes the use of these machines a sure investment.
  • Laser levelling machines for construction:
Mara Laser gives an absolute perfect precision to obtain ground floors with very reduced deflections (max 4 mm) and to remove cavities and gaps that would, later, be filled with concrete. The decrease of work times and the possibility of obtaining an absolute perfect slope for water to flow down, are other conveniences that make these machines worthy and incomparable in this areas.
  • Laser levelling machines for earth-moving:
the first-rate performance of the Mara levellers permits to move large quantity of soil very quickly and with low power. In this way, shorter work times, lower costs and greater accuracy in creating the horizontal plan and tilt, are achieved.
  • Laser levelling machine for sportsground:
this type of technology can be used very well in this field as it makes possible to level even existing sectors, repairing slope without replacing the lawn.
  • Laser levelling machines for greenhouses:
thanks to the accuracy, reduced size and easy handling of Mara laser levelling machines, it is also doable to work for the maintenance of green spaces. In this way, the right tilt and also a great aesthetic result are assured.
  • Laser grader machines for roads:
in this field, important results are achieved thanks to the capacity of the Mara’s laser graders to perform the same job as the motor grader, with poorer costs and more convenient times. In addition, there are key conveniences, for example specialized labor is no longer needed, besides to the fact that the use of fine materials is reduced.
