Laser technology
Laser technology is applied to the levellers in a way that without stopping synchronize the height of the blade.
The laser levelling machine, the laser beam transmitter and the laser beam receiver are the elements of the laser control system for levelling.
The transmitter is put on a tripod that observes the natural tilt of the land and sends the signal to the receiver, which is instead put on the machine itself.
The laser beam, as it is one of its internal characteristics, permits very high accuracy even over long land portions. After picking up the signal, a technologically perfectioned rotating pentaprism, put on these machines, gives back an ideal pianification for the leveller to follow while operating.
The receiver also plays a very important part, because it correctly reads the laser light received from the transmitter, through special photodiodes. The receivers, made by Mara Laser, guarantee the levellers will be able to work on any kind of ground and receive the 360° signal, even though it could be poor or experiences interference.
On the laser levelling machine, besides, there is a control system to annul external interference. It cuts wind rumble, automatically captures the signal and regulates the power of the tractor.
GPS receiver technology
GPS technology, however, is used to regulate the position of the laser levelling machine and the height of the blade.
The levellers, that adopt this technology, obtain the laser signal from the satellites: even in this situation the pianification is illustrated by the signal and reproduced on the land.
Nowadays, thanks to technological progress and the use of dedicated software, an accuracy of ± 10 mm has been obtained, even though this technology offers minor accuracy than laser technology: GPS systems are subject to fluctuations as it is one of the periodic change of constellation of the satellites.
In any case, the minor accuracy is compensated by the wide elasticity of use, mostly when this technology is used to work on large parts with more than one inclinations, such as agricoltural ground and building constructions.
Integrated laser + GPS system
Mara Laser has created and made an integrated system that connects the precision of laser technology with the potential of GPS, proper for harsh land.
The higher accuracy of the laser signal lays out the plan within a radius of 1300 meters, while the GPS system communicates the precise spot of the leveller. Hence, the Mara system can regulate the height of the tractor leveller and the precise spot of the blade itself.
The creation of the 3D map of the land permits to highlight the parts that has to be scraped, the loading areas, the section where to begin, and the best way that allows to do the greatest job possible, with both the tractor and the leveller in the right position.
Hence, the operator will have immediate instructions through the constant updating of the data by the system.
