Laser technology
Laser technology is applied to the levellers in a way that continually synchronize the height of the blade.
The leveller, the laser beam transmitter and the laser beam receiver are parts of the laser control system for levelling.
The transmitter is placed on a tripod that sees the natural tilt of the soil and sends the signal to the receiver, which is instead mounted on the machine itself.
The laser beam, for its internal characteristics, enables very high preciseness even over long sections of land. After obtaining the signal, a technologically perfectioned rotating pentaprism, mounted on these machines, gives back an ideal pianification for the leveller to follow while operating.
The receiver also plays a very important part, because it correctly reads the laser light received from the transmitter, through special photodiodes. The receivers, manufactured by Mara Laser, guarantee the levellers will be able to move on any kind of ground and receive the 360° signal, even if it could be poor or it goes through interference.
On the leveller, also, there is a control system to annul external interference. It lowers wind sound, automatically reaches the signal and settles the power of the tractor.
GPS system technology
GPS technology, however, is used to settle the position of the leveller and the height of the blade.
The levellers, that adopt this technology, perceive the laser signal from the satellites: even in this situation the pianification is illustrated by the signal and reproduced on the soil.
Lately, thanks to technological advancement and the use of dedicated software, an accuracy of ± 10 mm has been obtained, even though this technology offers less accuracy than laser technology: GPS systems are subject to fluctuations for the periodic change of constellation of the satellites.
In any case, the less preciseness is compensated by the wide elasticity of use, in particular when this technology is used to work on large land sections with more than one inclinations, such as agricoltural ground and building constructions.
Integrated laser + GPS system
Mara Laser has produced and manufactured an integrated system that matches the precision of laser technology with the potential of GPS, suitable for harsh soil.
The higher preciseness of the laser signal lays out the plan within a radius of 1300 meters, while the GPS system communicates the precise spot of the leveller. Therefor, the Mara system can settle the height of the tractor leveller and the precise spot of the blade itself.
The creation of the 3D map of the soil enables to highlight the land sections that has to be scraped, the loading areas, the starting point, and the best way that enables to make the best work possible, with both the tractor and the leveller in the right position.
Therefor, the operator will have prompt instructions through the constant updating of the data by the system.
