Laser technology
Laser technology is applied to the levellers in a way that continually synchronize the height of the blade.
The laser levelling machine, the laser beam transmitter and the laser beam receiver are parts of the laser control system for levelling.
The transmitter is located on a tripod that observes the natural gradient of the land and communicates the signal to the receiver, which is instead positioned on the machine itself.
The laser beam, beacuse of its own characteristics, enables very high preciseness even over long land portions. After picking up the signal, a technologically perfectioned rotating pentaprism, positioned on these machines, returns an ideal program for the leveller to follow while functioning.
The receiver also has an important role, because it correctly reads the laser light received from the transmitter, through special photodiodes. The receivers, manufactured by Mara Laser, guarantee the levellers will be able to work on any type fo ground and receive the 360° signal, even if it could be poor or it goes through interference.
On the laser levelling machine, also, there is a control system to remove external interference. It cuts wind sound, automatically captures the signal and regulates the power of the tractor.
GPS system technology
GPS technology, however, is used to regulate the position of the laser levelling machine and the height of the blade.
The levellers, that adopt this technology, get the laser signal from the satellites: even in this situation the program is illustrated by the signal and reproduced on the land.
Nowadays, thanks to technological progress and the use of dedicated software, an accuracy of ± 10 mm has been obtained, even though this technology offers less accuracy than laser technology: GPS systems are subject to fluctuations beacuse of the periodic change of constellation of the satellites.
In any case, the less preciseness is compensated by the wide adaptability of use, mostly when this technology is used to work on large parts with more than one inclinations, such as agricultural soil and building constructions.
Integrated laser + GPS system
Mara Laser has produced and manufactured an integrated system that adds the precision of laser technology with the potential of GPS, suitable for tough land.
The higher preciseness of the laser signal shows the plan within a radius of 1300 meters, while the GPS system communicates the precise spot of the leveller. Thus, the Mara system can regulate the height of the tractor leveller and the precise spot of the blade itself.
The creation of the 3D map of the land enables to highlight the parts that has to be scraped, the loading areas, the section where to begin, and the best route that enables to do the greatest job possible, with both the tractor and the leveller in the right position.
Thus, the operator will have immediate instructions through the constant updating of the data by the system.
