Laser technology
Laser technology is applied to the levellers in a way that without stopping synchronize the height of the blade.
The laser levelling machine, the laser beam transmitter and the laser beam receiver are the elements of the laser control system for levelling.
The transmitter is positioned on a tripod that observes the natural gradient of the land and sends the signal to the receiver, which is instead mounted on the machine itself.
The laser beam, for its internal characteristics, enables very high preciseness even over long land portions. After getting the signal, a technologically perfectioned rotating pentaprism, mounted on these machines, returns an ideal program for the leveller to follow while functioning.
The receiver also plays a very important part, because it correctly reads the laser light received from the transmitter, through special photodiodes. The receivers, manufactured by Mara Laser, guarantee the levellers will be able to move on any kind of soil and receive the 360° signal, though it could be low or it goes through interference.
On the laser levelling machine, moreover, there is a control system to remove external interference. It decreases wind sound, automatically captures the signal and settles the power of the tractor.
GPS receiver technology
GPS technology, after all, is used to settle the position of the laser levelling machine and the height of the blade.
The levellers, that adopt this technology, get the laser signal from the satellites: even in this situation the program is illustrated by the signal and reproduced on the land.
Lately, thanks to technological progress and the use of dedicated software, an accuracy of ± 10 mm has been reached up, even though this technology offers minor accuracy than laser technology: GPS systems are subject to fluctuations for the periodic change of constellation of the satellites.
In any case, the minor preciseness is compensated by the wide adaptability of use, in particular when this technology is used to work on large land sections with various inclinations, such as agricoltural ground and building constructions.
Integrated laser + GPS system
Mara Laser has created and manufactured an integrated system that matches the precision of laser technology with the potential of GPS, the right one for tough land.
The higher preciseness of the laser signal represents the plan within a radius of 1300 meters, while the GPS system communicates the place of the leveller. Hence, the Mara system can settle the height of the tractor leveller and the place of the blade itself.
The creation of the 3D map of the land enables to highlight the land sections that has to be scraped, the loading areas, the starting point, and the best way that enables to do the greatest job possible, with both the tractor and the leveller in the right position.
