Laser technology
Laser technology is applied to the levellers in a way that without stopping synchronize the height of the blade.
The leveller, the laser beam transmitter and the laser beam receiver are the elements of the laser control system for levelling.
The transmitter is positioned on a tripod that examines the natural gradient of the land and sends the signal to the receiver, which is instead positioned on the machine itself.
The laser beam, beacuse of its internal characteristics, permits very high preciseness even over long sections of land. After getting the signal, a technologically perfectioned rotating pentaprism, positioned on these machines, returns an ideal planning for the leveller to follow while functioning.
The receiver also has an important role, because it correctly reads the laser light received from the transmitter, through special photodiodes. The receivers, manufactured by Mara Laser, guarantee the levellers will be able to work on any type fo ground and receive the 360° signal, though it could be poor or it is subjected to interference.
On the leveller, also, there is a control system to remove external interference. It decreases wind rumble, automatically reaches the signal and settles the power of the tractor.
GPS system technology
GPS technology, after all, is used to settle the position of the leveller and the height of the blade.
The levellers, that implement this technology, perceive the laser signal from the satellites: even in this situation the planning is defined by the signal and reproduced on the land.
Nowadays, thanks to technological advancement and the use of dedicated software, an accuracy of ± 10 mm has been obtained, even though this technology offers minor accuracy than laser technology: GPS systems are subject to fluctuations beacuse of the periodic change of constellation of the satellites.
In any case, the minor preciseness is compensated by the wide elasticity of use, mostly when this technology is used to work on large parts with various inclinations, such as agricultural soil and building constructions.
Integrated laser + GPS system
Mara Laser has produced and manufactured an integrated system that connects the precision of laser technology with the potential of GPS, suitable for tough land.
The higher preciseness of the laser signal shows the plan within a radius of 1300 meters, while the GPS system communicates the place of the leveller. Therefor, the Mara system can settle the height of the tractor leveller and the place of the blade itself.
The creation of the 3D map of the land permits to highlight the parts that has to be scraped, the loading areas, the section where to begin, and the best way that enables to make the best work possible, with both the tractor and the leveller in the right position.
Therefor, the operator will have immediate instructions through the constant updating of the data by the system.
