Laser technology
Laser technology is applied to the levellers in a way that continually synchronize the height of the blade.
The laser levelling machine, the laser beam transmitter and the laser beam receiver are parts of the laser control system for levelling.
The transmitter is positioned on a tripod that observes the natural inclination of the land and sends the signal to the receiver, which is instead put on the machine itself.
The laser beam, beacuse of its own characteristics, enables very high preciseness even over long sections of land. After picking up the signal, a technologically perfectioned rotating pentaprism, put on these machines, gives back an ideal planning for the leveller to follow while operating.
The receiver also plays a very important part, because it correctly reads the laser light received from the transmitter, through special photodiodes. The receivers, manufactured by Mara Laser, guarantee the levellers will be able to work on any type fo ground and receive the 360° signal, though it could be poor or it goes through interference.
On the laser levelling machine, besides, there is a control system to remove external interference. It cuts wind sound, automatically intercepts the signal and regulates the power of the tractor.
GPS system technology
GPS technology, however, is used to regulate the position of the laser levelling machine and the height of the blade.
The levellers, that implement this technology, obtain the laser signal from the satellites: even in this situation the planning is represented by the signal and reproduced on the land.
Nowadays, thanks to technological advancement and the use of dedicated software, an accuracy of ± 10 mm has been obtained, even though this technology offers minor accuracy than laser technology: GPS systems are subject to fluctuations beacuse of the periodic change of constellation of the satellites.
In any case, the minor preciseness is compensated by the wide elasticity of use, in particular when this technology is used to work on large land sections with more than one inclinations, such as agricoltural ground and building constructions.
Integrated laser + GPS system
Mara Laser has produced and manufactured an integrated system that matches the precision of laser technology with the potential of GPS, the right one for tough land.
The higher preciseness of the laser signal shows the plan within a radius of 1300 meters, while the GPS system communicates the location of the leveller. Thus, the Mara system can regulate the height of the tractor leveller and the location of the blade itself.
The creation of the 3D map of the land enables to highlight the land sections that has to be scraped, the loading areas, the starting point, and the best way that allows to do the greatest job possible, with both the tractor and the leveller in the right position.
Thus, the operator will have instant instructions through the constant updating of the data by the system.
