The technology used by Mara is what makes it unique, and the results obtained all over the world testify this. Laser and GPS receiver technologies provide an unrivaled performance, mostly when they are used together.
Laser technology
Laser technology is applied to the levellers in a way that continually synchronize the height of the blade.
The laser levelling machine, the laser beam transmitter and the laser beam receiver are the elements of the laser control system for levelling.
The transmitter is placed on a tripod that observes the natural gradient of the soil and sends the signal to the receiver, which is instead located on the machine itself.
The laser beam, as it is one of its own characteristics, permits very high accuracy even over long sections of land. After obtaining the signal, a technologically perfectioned rotating pentaprism, located on these machines, gives back an ideal planning for the leveller to follow while operating.
The receiver also plays a very important part, because it correctly reads the laser light received from the transmitter, through special photodiodes. The receivers, manufactured by Mara Laser, guarantee the levellers will be able to move on any kind of ground and receive the 360° signal, even though it could be poor or experiences interference.
On the laser levelling machine, besides, there is a control system to remove external interference. It cuts wind sound, automatically captures the signal and regulates the power of the tractor.
GPS receiver technology
GPS technology, after all, is used to regulate the position of the laser levelling machine and the height of the blade.
The levellers, that implement this technology, obtain the laser signal from the satellites: even in this situation the planning is represented by the signal and reproduced on the soil.
Nowadays, thanks to technological progress and the use of dedicated software, an accuracy of ± 10 mm has been reached up, even though this technology offers poorer accuracy than laser technology: GPS systems are subject to fluctuations as it is one of the periodic change of constellation of the satellites.
In any case, the poorer accuracy is compensated by the wide elasticity of use, mostly when this technology is used to work on large land portions with various inclinations, such as agricoltural ground and building constructions.
Integrated laser + GPS system
Mara Laser has produced and manufactured an integrated system that adds the precision of laser technology with the potential of GPS, suitable for harsh soil.
The higher accuracy of the laser signal represents the plan within a radius of 1300 meters, while the GPS system communicates the precise spot of the leveller. Hence, the Mara system can regulate the height of the tractor leveller and the precise spot of the blade itself.
The creation of the 3D map of the soil permits to highlight the land portions that has to be scraped, the loading areas, the point where to start, and the best route that allows to do the greatest job possible, with both the tractor and the leveller in the right position.
Hence, the operator will have prompt instructions through the constant updating of the data by the system.
