Laser technology
Laser technology is applied to the levellers in a way that without stopping synchronize the height of the blade.
The leveller, the laser beam transmitter and the laser beam receiver are parts of the laser control system for levelling.
The transmitter is put on a tripod that observes the natural inclination of the land and communicates the signal to the receiver, which is instead positioned on the machine itself.
The laser beam, as it is one of its own characteristics, enables very high accuracy even over long sections of land. After getting the signal, a technologically perfectioned rotating pentaprism, positioned on these machines, gives back an ideal program for the leveller to follow while operating.
The receiver also has an important role, because it correctly reads the laser light received from the transmitter, through special photodiodes. The receivers, made by Mara Laser, guarantee the levellers will be able to work on any kind of ground and receive the 360° signal, even though it could be poor or it is subjected to interference.
On the leveller, also, there is a control system to annul external interference. It decreases wind rumble, automatically reaches the signal and sets the power of the tractor.
GPS system technology
GPS technology, however, is used to set the position of the leveller and the height of the blade.
The levellers, that adopt this technology, obtain the laser signal from the satellites: even in this situation the program is represented by the signal and reproduced on the land.
Lately, thanks to technological progress and the use of dedicated software, an accuracy of ± 10 mm has been obtained, even though this technology offers less accuracy than laser technology: GPS systems are subject to fluctuations as it is one of the periodic change of constellation of the satellites.
In any case, the less accuracy is compensated by the wide adaptability of use, mostly when this technology is used to work on large land portions with various inclinations, such as agricoltural ground and building constructions.
Integrated laser + GPS system
Mara Laser has produced and made an integrated system that matches the precision of laser technology with the potential of GPS, the right one for tough land.
The higher accuracy of the laser signal lays out the plan within a radius of 1300 meters, while the GPS system communicates the place of the leveller. Thus, the Mara system can set the height of the tractor leveller and the place of the blade itself.
The creation of the 3D map of the land enables to highlight the land portions that has to be scraped, the loading areas, the section where to begin, and the best way that allows to make the best work possible, with both the tractor and the leveller in the right position.
Thus, the operator will have immediate instructions through the constant updating of the data by the system.
