Laser technology
Laser technology is applied to the levellers in a way that without stopping synchronize the height of the blade.
The laser levelling machine, the laser beam transmitter and the laser beam receiver are the elements of the laser control system for levelling.
The transmitter is positioned on a tripod that sees the natural inclination of the land and sends the signal to the receiver, which is instead located on the machine itself.
The laser beam, beacuse of its own characteristics, permits very high accuracy even over long sections of land. After picking up the signal, a technologically perfectioned rotating pentaprism, located on these machines, returns an ideal pianification for the leveller to follow while functioning.
The receiver also plays a very important part, because it correctly reads the laser light received from the transmitter, through special photodiodes. The receivers, made by Mara Laser, guarantee the levellers will be able to move on any kind of soil and receive the 360° signal, though it could be poor or it is subjected to interference.
On the laser levelling machine, besides, there is a control system to remove external interference. It cuts wind rumble, automatically intercepts the signal and regulates the power of the tractor.
GPS receiver technology
GPS technology, however, is used to settle the position of the laser levelling machine and the height of the blade.
The levellers, that implement this technology, obtain the laser signal from the satellites: even in this situation the pianification is defined by the signal and reproduced on the land.
Lately, thanks to technological advancement and the use of dedicated software, an accuracy of ± 10 mm has been obtained, even though this technology offers minor accuracy than laser technology: GPS systems are subject to fluctuations beacuse of the periodic change of constellation of the satellites.
In any case, the minor accuracy is compensated by the wide adaptability of use, in particular when this technology is used to work on large land sections with more than one inclinations, such as agricultural soil and building constructions.
Integrated laser + GPS system
Mara Laser has produced and made an integrated system that matches the precision of laser technology with the potential of GPS, perfect for tough land.
The higher accuracy of the laser signal lays out the plan within a radius of 1300 meters, while the GPS system communicates the precise spot of the leveller. Thus, the Mara system can settle the height of the tractor leveller and the precise spot of the blade itself.
The creation of the 3D map of the land permits to highlight the land sections that has to be scraped, the loading areas, the section where to begin, and the best route that enables to make the best work possible, with both the tractor and the leveller in the right position.
